Lochwood House B&B Facilities

COVID-19 Safe Stay Guide

To keep both our guests and ourselves safe, we have had to make some changes in line with current Scottish government guidance. Don’t worry though, the friendly Lochwood House service is still here, just with additional effort to maximise safety.

Arrival & Check-in

Any guests with a high temperature or displaying Covid-19 symptoms will not be allowed to check in.

Due to current social distancing regulations, we ask any guest to ring the doorbell and wait outside the property until asked to enter by ourselves. If other guests are present, please remember to social distance outside. We can’t count on the Scottish weather so maybe bring a brolly too! If for a change the sun happens to be out we have space to sit outside and run through the check-in procedure in the fresh air. Guests must provide full contact details for everyone in their party. Room keys will be sanitised.

Breakfast

We kindly ask all guests to wash their hands before coming down for breakfast and when they return to their room. Hand sanitizer will also be available for use on the main hallway table next to the dining room.
We are seating guests as far apart as we can in our dining room. As we are not permitted to offer our normal buffet service we are asking guests to pre-order everything the night before (see our new menu for items available and further details on how to order).

Cleaning

We have increased our already strict cleaning regimes and are regularly cleaning public areas with anti-bacterial sprays. We are washing all fabric and crockery as per guidelines. When cleaning rooms/communal areas we will be using anti-bacterial sprays and UV hand held sanitisers on all surfaces, handles, switches and fabrics etc. and are strictly adhering to the Scottish Government and Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers and Scotland’s Best B&Bs’ advice on best cleaning practices.

To limit contact and cross-contamination for both our guest and our own safety, servicing of guest rooms will be kept to a minimum. You will find fresh bin bags and a top-up to your hospitality tray in the dresser drawer. Additional toilet rolls will also be provided in the bathroom. We kindly ask that you tie any full rubbish bags tightly and leave them outside your room for collection each morning. If you are staying with us for more than two nights please let us know if you need additional top-ups of any items. The same applies if you require any fresh linen or towels during your stay.

Checkout

Accounts can be paid by card, however cash can be taken.

When checking out we kindly ask that you leave your key in the bedroom door.

If You Feel Unwell

If you experience any symptoms that could be COVID-19 related while staying with us please let us know as soon as possible. As per Scottish government advice, you should also remain in your room until we have discussed a plan of action. This will help to keep everyone safe.

Log Cabin Facilities

Unfortunately, to limit contact and cross-contamination for both our guests and our own safety, the complimentary tea and coffee services that were available in the Log Cabin viewing area, have been temporarily removed along with all the bar glassware and board games. The mini fridge is also temporarily out of use.

We will however, provide guests upon request, complimentary tea and coffee (supplied from the main house). Plastic glasses and ice for cold drinks can also be requested.

Out & About

Please remember that many of the shops and businesses are operating differently than normal. You will probably need to book restaurant and even pub tables in advance. Most businesses have updated their websites/Social Media with their new operating procedures. If you are unsure though please ask and we will find out for you.

With the recently improved weather, there isn’t a better place to be than the West coast of Scotland!

Thank You!

Thank you for bearing with us. This is a new and strange situation for everyone and we won’t get it correct 100% of the time. We will do our best to work together to ensure a safe environment for all.

We will keep you informed of any operational changes via this page moving forward. Thanks for your continued support of Lochwood House!
